Our favorite characters of ‘Moonlight

Although it has been cancelled but we can never forget ‘Moonlight’. With its only one season, Moonlight attracted innumerous people who began campaigns after Network decided to cancel the show. Fans protested but it didn’t make the network to alter their decision. Ultimately, ‘Moonlight’ went away!

Among the major star cast of the series are Mick St. John, Beth Turner, Josef Kostan and Coraline Duvall etc. They all were very adorable and lovable characters and that’s why we still miss them. Show is not on air but Mick St. John comes to my dream with Beth and Josef. Why…… because I think about ‘Moonlight’ everyday and also watch an episode weekly.

Mick St. John was a private investigator on ‘Moonlight’. His wedding night became the life changing one for him when his bride Coraline turned him into a vampire. Ultimately, the man was forced to live like a ghost and do whatever they do. But, his decency was still there inside him so he set standards for him. He decided not to hunt women, children and innocent people. As the time went by, we saw him developing feelings for Beth but he was reluctant to admit that and the reason was his reality of being a vampire. The man made young gals crazy with his sexy look and attitude as a vampire and I think it was the best character portrayed by Alex O’Loughlin during his acting career.

And, the second character which attracted the stares of thousands of people was of Beth Turner. Sophia Myles appeared as Beth, an internet reporter. She’s the lady love of Mick. In the beginning of ‘Moonlight‘, we saw her in a relationship with Josh Lindsey, an assistant district attorney. Later, she developed a romantic relation with Mick.

And, yeah, how can I forget to describe the lady who changed Mick’s life forever. It was Coraline Duvall, Mick’s wife. It was very surprising to know that the lady was 300 years old. She returned in Mick’s life but the man never gave her second chance.

‘What’s Left Behind’ Moonlight?

Honestly, nothing is left behind the Moonlight TV show. As we all know, series is over after the first season only and the network has confirmed it that series would never be back with second season. Plotline of ‘Moonlight’ was very interesting and was sort of unique stuff but it didn’t receive good ratings which led the CBS Network to cancel the show after the first season only.

Here, my motive behind writing the above title is not to discuss what’s behind the Moonlight. Actually, I’m talking about the second last episode of first season entitled ‘What’s Left Behind’. The episode begins with Mick who discovered that WWII buddy’s grandson, Jacob, had been kidnapped and he offered his assistance to solve the matter. As he dug into the matter along with Beth, he realized that he had more connection with the missing boy than he firstly thought. Mick had an affair with the wife of WWII and we’re given some signs of Mick being his grandfather.

Next we saw that Ken Verdolino, the man who kidnapped the teenage boy, attacked Beth. Mick went to his house and saved Jacob and Ken Verdolino committed suicide during this rescue operation. Talbot offered Beth the job of a Civilian Investigator. Well, if you want to know whether or nor Mick was the grandfather of Jacob; you’ll have to watch the episode here! What I felt after watching this episode is that it was not kind of vampirism. …. Rest was okay! And for me, Mick St. John (portrayed by Alex O’Loughlin) was rocking one among the star cast …. As very usual!

We watched 16 episodes during the first season of ‘Moonlight’ and all were very good. Rating was the only one reason which sent it into the box of cancelled TV shows. A little about Moon Light

Moonlight is an American extrasensory romantic television drama which follows Mick St. John. He is a private investigator and an immortal vampire who was turned into a vampire by his bride Coraline on the couple’s wedding night 55 years prior. Nowadays, he’s struggling to exist after he was knocked down by his vampire wife.

Series follows him as he falls in love with someone; she is Beth Turner, a mortal as well as a newspaper reporter. She works for Buzzwire news service and accompanies Mick during his investigations. John works while facing the ups and downs of being an immortal and also deals with antagonists in the world of vampires. Series was a mix up of supernatural accent and suspense accents. Mick is supposed to drink blood and to avoid sun-light; still he manages to continue his job of a private investigator by working at night and sleeping in a freezer during the day. Mick also tries to avoid his lust for blood by developing a relationship with morgue attendant Guillermo who helps him by providing the fresh corpses. Other supporting characters on series are: Josef, as Mick’s best friend and mentor; police lieutenant Carl Davis, the single normal character on the show.

Series was premiered on September 28, 2007 and has recently finished season 1. Last episode ‘Sonata’ from Moonlight was aired on May 16, 2008. Series is cancelled by the CBS Network and all the efforts to sell it to some other network had failed so Moonlight, a great show with a great plot line is permanently cancelled.
